In a land like Kerala, the number, range and depth of its cultural and religious festivals are vast and quite astonishing. We would like to guide you through Kerala by describing some of the most important aspects of Kerala festivals.

Kerala is a narrow, extremely fertile strip on the south-coast of India. Protected by natural barriers in the east, it has evolved largely unaffected by the strife wrought by countless foreign incursions in the rest of India. According to the legend, the land was a gift of Parasurama, one of the 10 avataras of Lord Vishnu.
